Playing House...

So the kids actually played together in their room this morning....and without fighting! (well, too much...) Zoe and I went in so that I could put up some clean laundry and they asked me of they could "borrow" Zoe to be their "baby". The results were hilarious. They had Zoe in the doll bed and while she wasn't 100% sure about the situation, I think they all ended up having a great time.

We had an impromptu science lesson the other day.

One of the dad's on the baseball team gave us some freshly caught trout. We decided to have a traditional mountain meal so I picked from Dandelions from the yard to fry up to go with the trout.

Ben could not wait for me to cut the heads off of the fish so that he could experiment. Of course, Natalie had to get involved as well but she wasn't so sure about holding it in her bare hands. I put her fish head in a dish towel for her to hold.

I looked out the window to check on the kids and there they were, standing in the yard with tend stakes in their hands, trying to poke out the eyeballs. Ben was thrilled when his fish eyeball came out. He found the fish brain (didn't look like what I thought it would) and explored the eyeball and eye socket.

Natalie lost interest but Ben decided to make a "fish museum" and went to work trying to figure out how to preserve the fish head. After supper he had some fish spine bones to go in his museum as well.

Zoe is Eight Months Old

Zoe is eight months old! I cannot believe that in just four months (which I know will fly by) my baby will be a year old. She still has her cute gummy smile as she has not a tooth in her head. Her favorite thing in the world is paper. Nothing makes her more happy than to be given one of daddy's old magazines to eat. We call her "our little goat" because of how much she loves to eat paper. Anything you give her goes straight to her mouth. She had a big day yesterday because her big brother was in a musical! This is a photo of her last night...all tuckered out.
